The National Celebration of Young People and Fishing 2022

Dear Prince Albert AS Junior Member

As a junior member of Prince Albert Angling Society, the largest junior section of any club in the country it goes with out saying that we ensure that we are represented by our juniors in many national and international events.

We would like all our junior members to have the opportunity to take part and represent us in these events

The National Celebration of Young People and Fishing run by Canal & River trust is one such event.

In 2021 this was the largest junior participation event to be held in this country for a decade, PAAS juniors were well represented in all categories by cadets, juniors and youth and there were some notable performances with 7 of our junior’s being selected for the Let’s Fish nations teams event held in October 2021.

We are looking for PAAS juniors to represent our club in the 2022 event this year. We have several preparation events and coaching opportunities for you to help you be prepared to take part.

Details about the event.

The national celebration event is open to all keen young anglers aged between 7 & 20. It’s an experience that any young person should try at least once in their fishing journey. This year’s event  will be held on the 17th & 18th September 2022 in the Midlands.

There are 3 categories of entry: Cadets 7 to 10 years, Juniors 11 to 15 years and Youth 16 to 20 years

All entries are as individuals however a fun team prize has been added to the event by putting participants from the same clubs together in teams of 3 to compete for a team prize.

At this event there are prizes for all, mugs, caps, groundbait, certificate, medals and trophies, and while the entry fee is £5.00 you receive a £10.00 voucher from Leigh Tackle & Bait just for attending.

There will be 100’s of entrants, so to allow everything to be well organised, there will a draw for fishing positions live on Facebook on the Thursday before the event and all participants will receive an email with details and directions for the day. On the day there is an army of coaches to support you in case you may need any help.

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a prestigious event and this year with the Commonwealth Games taking place in the Midlands there will also be a Commonwealth Communities Celebration team event on 22nd October 2022 the selection for this will be taken directly from the people who attend the National Celebration of Young People and Fishing.
