Dear members, due to a confirmed bacterial infection in a Cheshire mere, I am giving you all some personal care information. The outbreak is called “Aeromonas bacteria” which can easily transfer to humans, and make you quite ill. Treat it similar to blue green algae, Weil’s disease etc and make sure before you eat, drink or smoke you sanitise your hands with either hand sanitiser or wipes. This bacteria lives in nearly all waters, but from a fish perspective only shows itself when they are stressed, a bit like herpes in humans causing cold sores. If you catch any fish with ulcerations, please treat with your standard carp care or use something called “Cyproguard spray”
