Petition to Reduce Predation of Fish Stocks
We are all aware of the increase in predation of fish stocks by cormorants, goosanders and red-breasted mergansers.
Around 90% of our principal salmon rivers in England are now classified as at risk, and declared catches are at their lowest since records began. Coarse fisheries are also under threat.
If a significant number of people sign the petition below, there will be pressure on the government to debate this issue and potentially amend the Schedule 2.1 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 which will enable targeted evidence- based management to protect fish stocks.
